Army

The army of the Confederacy was nearly half the size of the Union Army.  The Union was made up of the small United States Army that was still available and the large amount of volunteers and conscription's.  45% of the army was made up of White Americans.  9% was made up of German immigrants.  9% were African Americans.  9% were Irish born.  4% were Dutch, 2% Canadians, 2% English,  2% French, 1% Scandinavian, and the rest were various nationalities.  The majority of the Confederacy was made up of Southern white people.
